User Reviews about Pioneer TS-A6882R 6" x 8" 4-Way 280-Watt Speakers
Got these from Amazon while they had their 40% off Pioneer products. I had originally purchased Infiniti speakers from Crutchfield which after installing them in my wife's Cougar, sounded HORRIBLE. Having already returned those and back on the market for speakers, I stumbled upon these and ordered them.
These pioneers are "infinitely" better than the more expensive ones I bought from Crutchfield, and I cannot beleive the sound I am getting from the upgraded JVC head unit with the addition of these speakers. Crisp highs, excellent midrange, and absolutely adequate bass. Not thumping, but hey they are 6x8 speakers, if you want deep bass get a sub!
For under $90 shipped for two pairs, not only did I get a great deal, but an awesome set of speakers. -- Awesome!
I installed these speakers in my 2010 Ford F150 pickup to improve the performance of the factory AM/FM radio and they work great.
The sound from my factory radio was missing the mid-range and the high notes. In reading reviews of these speakers (and a few others) there seemed to be a consensus that the problem was not so much the factory radio as it was the cheap factory speakers. And in my case, the reviews were right - it sounds much better with these speakers.
Installation:
These 6"x8" speakers fit into the front doors of my 2010 F-150 perfectly. Pioneer provides new mounting screws with slightly smaller heads than the factory screws and you must use them for a proper fit.
The Pioneer speakers use "spade lug" style electrical connections and include a couple of short (about 18 inch) wiring harnesses with lugs on one end and nothing on the other. These speakers were NOT plug-and-play with my FORD truck because it uses a one-piece quick-disconnect connector mounted right on the frame of the factory speaker.
Various companies will sell you a wiring adapter that plugs directly into the FORD connector and makes this job a snap but since I have a soldering gun, I made my own adapter by cutting the connector off the old factory speaker and soldering it to the Pioneer wiring harness. True, it ruined the factory speakers but I wasn't impressed with them anyway! -- They sound great!
These speakers where easy to install in both the front and back of my truck. They sound very clear, and have a great bass. The speakers beat the head unit in the mail, that was fast. Thanks -- LOUD and CLEAR
Pros- Louder, 60w constant wattage meaning my JVC stereo doesn't have enough wattage to blow em out (thats good). Perfect fit for my 02 Ford Ranger. Very clean, crisp sound. If it's not, then your input is bad, because these speakers are like you are there with the band. They don't look too gaudy either, I can see a little shine from behind my stock door panel, it looks cool!
Cons- Bass isn't that great, but hey, these are 4-way speakers. If you want bass speakers get 2 ways.
Last thoughts- I'd buy it again! They were reasonably priced, and a direct fit to my old speakers. -- Clear, Crisp sound.
The Pioneer 6x8 speakers are unbelievable. The highs are excellent. I would recommend to anyone... -- Pioneer TS-A6882R Stereo Speakers
