The midrange motor structure is like no other. The voice coil is made of lightweight copper-clad, aluminum ribbon wire densely wound for maximum power handling and extreme efficiency. It’s wrapped around a T-cut pole piece and copper shorting ring that provides smooth frequency response and reduces harmonic distortion. The motor is housed in a solid cast-aluminum basket that combines a unique groove-locking system and variably-thick surround to hold the Tri-Tech cone in place. Loud, clear 30-millimeter tweeters with DuPont Tetoron domes recreate luxurious highs from a flush, angled, or coaxial mount, the latter allowing the installer to remove aluminum phase plugs from the midrange speakers’ centers and screw in special adapters and tweeters.
